 The Chinese Tea Tradition
According to legend, tea was discovered in approximately 2500 B.C. by Chinese Emperor Shennong. The Chinese did not begin documentation of tea as traditional Chinese medicine until about 350 A.D. The use of tea was introduced to the Japanese in 600 A.D. and to Europe in 1610 by Dutch importers. People soon realized the value of the tea's healing mechanisms to restore harmony and balance to the body. Eventually, tea has been commoditized as an essential beverage in our everyday lives.
